How to start?

You must see your General Practitioner, Psychiatrist or Paediatrician to receive a referral and have a Mental Health Care Plan completed. After receiving a referral you can make an appointment with a registered Psychologist. Please bring your referral letter and Mental Health Care Plan with you to the first appointment with your Psychologist.

How many sessions covered?

Eligible clients can receive up to 12 individual services in a calendar year. You will need to return to your referring medical professional after the first 6 sessions to assess your progress. If there is a necessity for further sessions then the additional 6 sessions will be available to utilise, upon further referral from your referring medical professional.

How do you claim the rebate?

As most other Psychologists, psych~Empower Psychologists require clients to pay their appointment fee upfront, and then claim the rebate from Medicare after the session. If you are booked in for a 50+ minute session with a psych~Empower Psychologist, then you will receive $75 rebate from Medicare.
